Engineering design of wave deflectors to reduce overtopping and improve coastal protection.
Reducing Wave Overtopping and Protecting Waterfront Structures
We provide engineering design for wave deflectors used to reduce wave runup, overtopping, and splash over waterfront structures. Wave deflectors are commonly integrated into seawalls, bulkheads, and coastal protection systems to improve performance during high tides, storms, and long-term sea level rise.
A wave deflector is a structural element added to the top or face of a seawall or coastal structure to redirect incoming wave energy away from the protected area. Its purpose is to help reduce water overtopping, minimize erosion behind the wall, and improve the resilience of coastal infrastructure.
We provide coastal and marine structural engineering services throughout Southern California, including Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Huntington Beach, Dana Point, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego.
Each project is evaluated for marine exposure, structural demands, site constraints, and permitting requirements so the final design supports long-term performance.
